IDC Staff Course

Diving instruction

As a PADI Instructor, you have the necessary experience to share with the IDC candidates. And, you know that continuing your education never ends. As an Instructor Development Course (IDC) Staff Instructor, you will help bring up the next generation of PADI Instructors while gaining in-depth instructor-trainer knowledge. Because IDC Staff Instructors are an integral part of the PADI IDC, you set the stage for moving on to PADI Course Director as you present topics in the IDC and help shape PADI Divemasters and Assistant Instructors into PADI Open Water Instructors.
In addition to all the courses you can teach as a PADI Instructor, you can also:

  • Teach PADI Assistant Instructor courses.
  • Assist PADI Course Directors in conducting the PADI Instructor Development Course.
  • Assist PADI Course Directors in conducting instructor-level continuing education.

The IDC staff instructor course at Ocean College is run on two options:

  • Option A: this is completed over 12 days. We will meet a couple of days before the IDC to make sure that you are happy with your academic presentation technique and your diving skills. After that, you will audit a full IDC, side by side with Marco, heavily involved in the day to day life of the candidates. They will look at you for help, advice and role model behaviour!
  • Option B: if you cannot afford a whole 12 days off, you have a shorter solution. The course will be completed in 4 days with role playing techniques and videos to fine tune your evaluation skills.

Duration: Option A 12 days, Option B 4 days.

*Please note, if paying by credit card there is a 2.35% surcharge.
